Bullseye Flight Team

How does the Bullseye Team arrive exactly on time?  We plan…extensively!

Using a proprietary Bullseye computer planning program, we plot our holding pattern and ingress path.  The program calculates our turn radius, distance remaining, and provides a display that allows our flight leaders to see exactly where to turn when exiting the hold and start toward the target.  Our holding pattern allows us to fly predictable turns that allow precise timing.

The Bullseye formation strives to fly at 120 knots ground speed (about 138 miles per hour in car terms) which yields a standard two nautical miles per minute closure toward the venue. Our timing program provides a great visual display that lets us cross check our timing progress as we proceed along the inbound track.  But like everything that moves at 138 mph, the process evolves quickly and flight leaders must often make last minute adjustments to compensate for strong airborne winds and other variables.

In short, we work very hard to make our flyover time over target goal of plus or minus 2 seconds…and our formation looks good to boot!
